University of the Free State, South Africa chooses Scientia solutions
Cambridge, UK, 20th May 2013 - The University of the Free State (UFS), with two of its campuses based in Bloemfontein and a campus based in the Eastern Free State, is one of the oldest South African institutions of higher learning. The University has 33,000 students and 2,900 staff.
UFS’s previous scheduling system needed to be replaced as it was becoming obsolete. UFS was keen to replace it with a modern system that would enable the university to feed data to HEMIS and avoid clashes within the curriculum, as well as improve the experience of users.
The project includes Enterprise Foundation, Web Room Booking and Exam Scheduler and will be delivered in two phases across 2013 and 2014.
